The Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment has launched the Online Retail Scheme.

  • The Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment has launched the Online Retail Scheme to encourage the retail sector in Ireland to develop a more competitive online presence and build a more resilient business in the domestic and global marketplaces.

    The scheme is a Competitive Fund administered by Enterprise Ireland with a total fund size of €3.4m.

  • The Online retail Scheme was originally created in response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on retail businesses. The scheme is designed to help Irish businesses further develop their online presence to give more competitive offers to their customers. A total prize fund of €3.4 million is being offered in 2023.

  • A pre-existing online presence,

    10 or more full-time employees,

    and generate the majority of company revenue from retailing products directly to individual consumers.

  • Successful applicants will be awarded funding to support a maximum of 50% of the project eligible costs of €50,000 with a maximum grant of €25,000.

    The scheme is not open to companies that do not meet the eligibility criteria or are currently clients of Enterprise Ireland and are eligible for other funding assistance from Enterprise Ireland.

  • 3rd May 2023 at 12.00pm.

  • Businesses who apply for the first time and are successful can claim up to 50% of the eligible costs for their project. The maximum expenditure is €50,000, therefore you can claim up to €25,000 at 50%. If you’ve been successful in previous calls for applications you can still apply..

    Note: The minimum project expenditure is €20,000, any less and you will be considered ineligible.
